Two
valuable sources for information are design guidelines (the
theoretical application of interactive design) and studying
what products have been recognized for excellence (theory
in practice). When designing interactive media, understanding
and using some of this information will help get your web site
or fixed media project on the right path. Information that speaks
to human - computer interaction (HCI), usability, and design
guidelines is only half of what needed to create award-winning
media -- the other half is being media literate.

are the Apple design guidelines, first developed and release
in the early 1980's.
