... Pilot Media - case studies - usability research

Pilot Media conducts usability research in several ways. We have the technology and knowledge to develop surveys, conduct focus groups, guided walk-through, card sorting, or develop paper prototypes. Most of our clients ask for navigation analysis, and top-level layout and design consultation. In addition, we use third party, web-based tools to provide readability, tag and accessibility analysis to round out our services. We provide you with a thorough report that outlines all of the information we gather.

While search engine optimization is not our specialty, we use Google Analytics to track, analyze and develop search engine optimization and assess the effectiveness of your current strategies.

Usability is important to the bottom line -- end users need to fill orders, find information or make requests. The overall experience, then, tends to hinge on efficiency.

It's almost impossible to make a site efficient unless you understand the end user, so audience analysis coupled with a sound understanding of how that audience uses technology is key. Making sure that your site is user-centered will make your site easier to understand, which in turn minimizes frustration and quick departures.

Interaction design is our specialty. We focus on understanding the end user, observing established guidelines of layout, and information design.Creating a beautiful site may bring notoriety for a moment, but a satisfying experience is one that an end user will want to repeat.
